  1. Across Wilshire is the Ambassador Hotel.

    The Brown Derby has by now relocated to the Wilshire/Alexandria corner.
    You can see the bungalows for the Chapman Park Hotel being built beyond the Derby (roofing tiles visible on units under construction). That property was torn down to build the Equitable Tower in the 1960’s.

    The white building with the radio tower that says “Auburn” was the Auburn/Cord/Duesenberg dealership. It’s still there, but obstructed by ficus trees and now houses the Indonesian Consulate.

    Your photo was likely taken from the historic Gaylord Apartments building, which still stands.
