“I’m Glenda Farrell, the hard-boiled wise-cracking little moll of the screen, and if I do not play the part in private life, I immediately become a social outcast.

“They expect me to answer every query with ‘Oh yeah!’ I’m supposed to insult other guests with flippant remarks, spill soup in their laps, say ‘dese’ instead of ‘these,’ have a screamingly funny answer for any question, and dress like a combination of a Bowery moll and a burlesque queen.
