Haunted Burger Joint: Brea’s Best

Posted on Posted in Haunted L.A.

Allegedly haunted: Brea’s Best, located at 707 S Brea Blvd, Brea, CA 92821-5310.

How many times do I have to write “Brea?”…

In 2010-2011, Internet rumors abounded that the popular Orange County burger place had poltergeist activity. Former employees were said to have occasionally witnessed frozen food getting tossed around the kitchen area late at night by invisible hands and that a freezer door once opened, dumping all of its contents onto the floor. Employees also allegedly heard the sound of disembodied laughter after 10:00 p.m., after the restaurant had closed.

Tom and Bill Gatsios opened the popular eatery around 1981 by taking over an abandoned Carl’s Jr. fast food restaurant (which had been there as early as 1968). Brea’s Best quickly became a hit and still has a loyal following today.

While there are no new ghost stories posted online, the burger joint still pops up as a haunted location on Google.  If you have any personal experiences or can either corroborate or refute any of its paranormal claims, please share your thoughts!  Otherwise, enjoy your meal!
