“I honestly don’t look back to the past. I’ve made a lot of mistakes and tend to get annoyed at myself if I think about them. I don’t even like to look at myself in my old films. I hate my face. It’s so round. I remember my mother telling me not to worry about it when I was very young, that I’d change when I grew up. But I still hate my face.” — Jane Wyatt

“I never vacuumed at home wearing my pearls. In fact, I never vacuumed at all. I was always working at the studio. I would have gone crazy staying at home like Margaret Anderson, and my family knew that.” — Jane Wyatt
Jane Wyatt‘s Rice Pudding Recipe. She claims that the recipe belonged to either her grandmother or great-grandmother.
Ingredients:
9 tablespoons sugar
9 tablespoons rice
1 quart scalded milk
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Directions:
Pour all ingredients into buttered ovenproof casserole. Cook uncovered in pre-heated 250-degree oven 3 hours or 300-degree oven 2 hours. Dish will have a dark skin and be yellow cream-colored inside. Serves 6.
Wyatt recommends cooking it 2 hours at 300 degrees, stirring every half-hour for the first hour.
